(This is a continuation of the last post.) I was blessed to receive many wonderful gifts from my family this year. From my in-laws, I received some “green stuff” and they also sent Jon and me out to eat. That was really wonderful…because we had been in the van with the little boys for the 2 days prior, and, as much as we love them, we needed a break. From my parents, I got a calphalon griddle pan, some towels (a yearly gift, bet you can figure out why we need lots of them), some olive oil and some “Franklins” in a beautiful box, and some great jeans and a sweater (from my sister and brother-in-law). Jon gave me the book “Think Like a Chef” by Tom Colicchio, a dvd designed to teach us how to dance together called “The Quick and Dirty Guide to Salsa”, and this . So far, the book is really interesting. I look forward to trying out the dvd. And I love the necklace. It came with a cute little box and felt pouch…but I haven’t put it in there yet because it has been around my neck ever since Christmas. So that is what I got for Christmas. What did you get? Please tell me, I’m really interested. For 2005. I don’t really make any formal resolutions…but in the coming year I hope to read more, entertain/be hospitable more, find a way to exercise and help my almost 5 year old with his speech. There are a lot of things that I want to get done soon (like paint my bathroom, lime green, maybe?) that really don’t count as resolutions. This might be an interesting year for the Barlows. Maybe Jon will finish his Ph.D. Maybe we’ll move. Maybe we’ll change cities. Maybe we won’t. Maybe my 8 year old will be independent in school. Maybe he won’t. I can’t wait to see what happens. Happy New Year, everyone!
