Content is Forthcoming
I plan on giving y’all lots of content here this week…like pictures of the slipcover, pictures and recipes of successful bread-making endeavors, and a great recipe for loaded baked potato soup…but not today. Why not today? Because I decided that I have purchased my last package of diapers. So that means that #4 will have to be potty trained, soon. So, we are starting that today. Hopefully he will figure it out quickly. We didn’t get the best start this morning and have already had accidents (both #4 and the dog have had accidents, dang that dog) so I’ll be otherwise occupied today.

the slipcover is going really well. And, I really do mean thank you for asking because I’ve seen a few of y’all in person lately and you kindly asked me about my progress. Hopefully, I’ll be finished with the main part soon and will then make the cushion and then be finished. I’m at the crazy stage now — the darn thing is just so huge. I was sewing it yesterday and had imaginations that I was sewing my very own tent or perhaps the sail of a very large ship. Seriously, it is gigantic. I probably would have done more yesterday except the boys wanted to play in the snow when they got home. This means that I got to go out and play, too, since I have a few progeny that can’t be trusted to stay in the yard. It was fun, sort of, but the Alabama girl in me would like for it to melt and go away. Do you hear me, Snow? Your exit is desired.

First of all, I’d like so say that I really like having this problem. Not being able to find jeans that fit is truly a first-world problem, is it not? That being said, I do acknowledge that I would like to find some jeans that fit. Especially since my only pair has a hole that prevents me from ever wearing them again. I did find a place that has helped me in sort of pointing the way to jeans that might work for me. They have lots of information on all brands of jeans, from the 300 hundred dollar ones to the 20 dollar ones that they have at Wal-Mart. So, if you’re having trouble finding jeans that fit — give them a shot.

Time for a Project
I’m beginning a new project today. I’m making a fitted slipcover for the “Miss Liz” sofa. We got the sofa from her when she relocated to Memphis. It is a extra long, low sofa. She and her father bought it in New York when they were there in the early 60s. I found a bolt of canvas at the fabric store and had a great coupon — so I bought the whole thing. And, I’ve already laundered the fabric and made over 25 yards of piping even though I know that I’ll end up needing more than that.

I don’t have any excuses to put if off any longer. The boys are back in school….1,2,3…here I go.

I’ll remeber to take before and after pictures — hopefully it will be a pretty dramatic transformation.
