Apple Picking Pics

We ventured across the river today so that we could pick some apples. It was hot, not really fallish weather, but the drive was pretty and we enjoyed ourselves.

Here is buster #4. He’s the reason that we came to begin with. He thought it IMPERATIVE that he should pick an apple this fall.

He loved this old tractor.

Then we have Jon, here, with the windmill at his back while waiting for the farmer to crank the tractor. I think that he looks comfortable in this pastoral setting. Who knows, he might be Farmer Jon someday.

Oh, the grasshoppers. I planned for bees, but I didn’t plan on these beauties. We have a person in our family who has a major fear of bugs. He did well, despite it being the most grasshoppery place I’ve ever been.

Speaking of the family, they just keep growing. Son #2 was delighted to tell me that he only had a forehead to go before he would be taller than I am. Just a forehead. Lovely.

Blonde haired brothers, here.

Speaking of hair, what color would you call this? I’m taking a poll. My Papa would call it chicken brown — what do you think?

We had fun and got some yummy apples for baking and eating. Then I got to see this

on the way home. I don’t know what it is, but whenever I see the Arch it automatically makes me smile. It’s darn near Pavlovian and I don’t understand. Maybe I just love St. Louis. That’s probably it.

Apple recipes coming shortly. Happy Saturday, y’all!
