I want to win the HGTV Dream House this year. It is not even my style but I would LOVE, LOVE to win it. Sigh. There, I said it. Of course, we all know that Presbyterians don’t win stuff…..

This is kind of unrelated, but it does have to do with furniture: I know boys are all about physics, but what do you do when your 3 y.o. decides to see what happens when he uses a pencil to poke a hole into your leather ottoman? Do you reprimand or become thankful that your son is curious and hope for a dream house?

Oh, no, Marcie, did he do that? I would do both, reprimand and wish for a dream house. Ha! Generally, I try to teach my boys that all things are tools and should be used in the way intended. And I generally try to discourage poking of any kind š But, you should be glad that he is curious, too. It will be easier to channel the curious/creative stuff when he is a little older. This is why I like furniture from the curb. Not as pleasing, visually, but less stressful for me.

Thanks, Anne! I will start to use the tip about the purpose of tools asap. And as far as curb furniture, this was one of only two or three nice pieces we own. Wouldn’t you know? It helps me keep the right perspective on things, though. :o)

I’ve been pining about winning the dream house, too. I haven’t even entered enough to win. But if I win, I don’t want the house. I just want the 200 grand and the SUV. If a presbyterian does win, I hope it is one of us . . .

I’ve been obsessed with the house. It has been excellent daydream material for me. When it is all over, I’ll go back to daydreaming about having a house/different apartment/different address/same address. I’m quite the daydreamer, now that I think about it. š And, I hope that one of us wins. That would be sweet.
