Every once in awhile on Design*Sponge, I see a house that I could basically walk into and claim as mine. Today, I saw one like that.
Now, the space itself isn’t all that amazing — no spectacular views or walls of windows or anything like that. I just really like how personal and colorful and bright the whole thing is. Actually, most spaces that I love look a lot like this one.
I’ve come up with a formula…..
mcm furniture + neutrals + beautiful color + nice textiles + (mostly) white walls + lots of light + unique art and accessories = my kind of space
I find myself saying “yes, yes, yes,” when I look at this space instead of “are you kidding me, really?”.
Noted.
I hope that y’all had a good Monday!

Annie, how cute are you? That is a very you dwelling for sure 🙂 I have been away and have not seen your blog for a bit, but I wanted to say that I think that hairstyle you linked to a while back would be really cute on you. I have a hard time visualizing things sometimes, but I know you could pull it off 🙂

I love it when you have a design sponge post, and i love so much of this one too. First of all, my favorite home is a ranch, by far. That’s what I want…red brick and all, one story, original hard woods, and even a little bit of knotty pine is okay. This home reminds me of yours! There is a huge ranch home here in Oxford that should be mine…but it never will be. I love your style annie…it’s influenced me for many years in the most lovely way!

Hey Abby! So good to hear from you. I’m glad that you think that the house looks like me. Sometimes I wonder how much what I like actually shows…..not that it is important in the greater scheme of things. But it is nice to know that there is consistency there. 🙂
Thanks for your support with the haircut. I’m still on the fence but I am getting it cut, somehow. Maybe I’ll go for it after all. I’m torn on asking my males what they think I should do….because, you know, they’ll actually tell me.

Hey Kathleen,
I second your wish for a ranch home. I want one, too. No stairs, anywhere, all original surfaces and a pool in the backyard. 🙂 I’m dreaming, now, but if anyone needs a pool it is I. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
