Rye Bread

Well, I hope that you all had a great Thanksgiving!  We had a good, low-key one.

I don’t know if there is another Friday in the year that feels less like a Friday than today.  What are your thoughts on this?  Maybe it really, REALLY feels like Friday to you because you’ve been up since the break of dawn getting fabulous bargains on gifts and things.

Today I made rye bread.  It is lovely, lovely.  No matter how many times I bake bread I can’t seem to shake the feeling that it is sort of a magical thing.  This rye is magical, no doubt.  It’s another Smitten Kitchen recipe.  Love it!  I think that it may become one of my traditions for the day after Thanksgiving.  Baking bread and getting out the Christmas decorations while listening to Christmas music.  Yep.

I love this time of year.

I’m off to find Elvis’s Blue Christmas album.

 

Elvis and Lance Berkman look like they’re brothers, I think.
