Charles Bradley

Charles Bradley
is an interesting guy.

He recently released his debut album.

He’s 62.

He’s part of the soul-revival movement coming out of Brooklyn.

Yay for all of that, I say.

There is a review of his album, here on HearYa. Maybe this is another that I’ll be asking the library to purchase…..maybe.

Jon calls the jumpsuit that Charles wears in this video “epic”. True. Epic.

Chickens and Bridges

Chickens and Bridges

Over spring break, we were able to visit the zoo with my sister, her boys, and my mom. We had a perfect weather day there. The zoo has a portion with a barn that my boys always enjoy. Y’all already know what J asked the keeper about the Norway rat. He also tried to catch this

rooster. What a handsome rooster he was, too. It’s a good thing he’s also an agile rooster since he had to get away from J. That’s why this picture is so blurry — rooster was in escape mode and you can’t really blame him.

Anyway, my youngest son wanted me to take a picture of this

chicken. She was a pretty chicken, so I obliged.

Fast forward to a few days ago when we were flipping through the images from the zoo on my computer. “Look, E,” I said, “there is the picture of that chicken that you liked.”

“Oh, yes!” E replied enthusiastically, “that was the Hot Mama Chicken!”

Hot Mama Chicken? Where, I ask you, did he ever hear that?

In other news, J told me today that he couldn’t wait for his upcoming dentist appointment. “Why, J, are you so anxious for the appointment?” I asked. He replied, “Because of the girls who clean your teeth there. One day, I’m going to fall in love with one of them.”

(stunned silence on my part…or maybe I was silently screaming?)

Yikes. I’m going to not think about that bridge and my crossing it any time soon.

I hope y’all are having a good Tuesday!
