This statement was said by Jon as we drove through poverty-stricken central Alabama. We were driving by piles of furniture and stuff that people had piled on the curb — I’m assuming that the following day was trash day. Jon: Hey, Annie, make sure to look, there might be an Eames chair with that stuff. My husband, the optimist. :)

We are back from our annual trip to the South. It was fun and it was long and it was many other things…..we are glad to be back. It was good to see all of the family. In addition to seeing everyone, my favorite parts of the trip were the food (including delicious Chilton Co. peaches and the best strawberries that I have had in years) and getting away from here (for a short while). Jon did a great job driving us everywhere. The boys were good travelers — for the most part. They had a blast playing with some of their cousins and visiting a war museum in Mississippi. In Alabama, they had a great time going to the children’s museum in Birmingham and going to their first drive-in movie with their maternal grandmother.
