There is a summer program that I just found out about — I think that it would be perfect for my oldest son. The program is about social skill development intervention and uses principles of sensory integration, developmental theory and theory of mind to facilitate development of social skills in participants. So, I’m calling the number to find out more about the program…mainly how much it costs and if they have space for J. I really hope that it all works out. I would appreciate prayer for this. Please. Sitting here hitting redial — I feel as nervous as I did in college trying to register for a really important class…….

We saw Episode 3 of Star Wars on Thursday. It was pretty good…better than either of the 2 previous episodes. The dialogue was still really bad in parts. And, overall, I thought that is was sort of unbalanced in that Lucas seemed to dwell on some things far too long while not giving enough attention to other things. There was a really funny guy in the theater with us who was cheering and clapping in parts of the movie. He was so funny. The first time that Yoda did something with the Force, he yelled out, “AW-YEAH!!”. He was a hoot. Our two middle boys understood why when we told them that they wouldn’t be allowed to see the movie for several years. I mean, this movie is rated PG-13 for a reason. But our oldest had a hard time understanding why he couldn’t see it. He really had his heart set on it. I was trying to explain to him that he couldn’t see it for lots of reasons — but he wasn’t satisfied with the reasons I was giving him. So finally I told him that it was PG-13 and that he wasn’t 13 and therefore wouldn’t be able to see it. At this point, amid his tears and sadness, he protested, “Mom, I can see it, I know that I can, it’s not PG 13….it’s PG-8, IT’S PG-8!!!!!” That boy…PG-8. Ha.

When you are thinking of your spouse, do you ever say to yourself, “BONUS!!”. Actually, I think that quite a lot about Jon. But what made me think that lately? He fixed our washing machine. And he did it much faster (and cheaper) that a repairman would have. What a smart man. I must add this to the long list of handy things that Jon has done in this apartment/to our van/for friends/for family over the years. Hooray, Jon!!!

I hope that Bo gets voted through to the final of AI tonight. He did really well last night, in my opinion. “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me” was my favorite of the night. And, in another note about TV, I’m really glad that Tom won Survivor. Usually, the folks that I like on Survivor get voted off before the final. The boys are taking end-of-the-year tests in school this week. Yet another reminder that the school year will be soon be over. Just a little more time to get organized before the summer begins. Not much else to say today. I’ve got to bake some gluten-free bread for my oldest, some brownies for the hog known as me, and some flax seed muffins for some healthy morning food. The brownies are a new recipe, so you know that I’ll post it if it is good. Have a good day, y’all. :)
