I’m making red beans and rice for dinner tonight. I hope that the boys eat it. Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Some of them liked the Italian sausage with peppers and polenta that I made last night. Jon liked it. I don’t know whether I liked it or not…my sinuses are all messed up and I can’t smell (or taste) anything right now. To add to that, I also don’t have much of a voice today. So Annie isn’t doing so well. Today, I’m also making a spice cake for Miss Liz’s birthday. I’m going to frost it with caramel frosting and it also has a blackberry jam layer, too. Hope that she likes it. Y’all take care and have a good day. I’ve got to get going around here.

I think that my neighbors might assume that I am either nosy or crazy because I’m always looking out the window. Usually, I’m just looking at birds or squirrels or falling leaves. Sometimes I’m daydreaming. Well, maybe a lot of the time I’m daydreaming. It is a good thing that my kitchen sink is not under a window….I’d get even less done. Last night, I was looking out my window at this . Hope that y’all got a chance to see it, too. It was the prettiest one I’ve ever seen in my life.

My baby loves bottles. You know, like water bottles and coke bottles. Of course, he really loves beer bottles best. He saw a beer bottle on the kitchen counter the other day and pointed to it. He said something like, “beer,” and the way he was looking at it with his eyes…I just knew that he wanted to hold it. But I’m paranoid about accidents involving a child walking with a bottle of any kind and falling on it, etc., so I told him that the bottle was Mama’s and that we were going to leave it on the counter. He looked at the bottle one more time, sort of like he was getting used to the idea that he would not be getting to hold the bottle. Then, he looked back at me, smiled a little, lifted his sippy cup upward and said, unmistakably, “Cheers!”
