I&#8217;m not sorry that Easter will be here this coming Sunday, but I will miss singing this.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/auto_images\/hires\/img63721303098817.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/auto_images\/lowres\/img63721303098817.jpg\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lord, who throughout these forty days<br \/>\nFor us didst fast and pray,<br \/>\nTeach us with Thee to mourn our sins<br \/>\nAnd close by Thee to stay.<\/p>\n<p>As Thou with Satan didst contend,<br \/>\nAnd didst the victory win,<br \/>\nO give us strength in Thee to fight,<br \/>\nIn Thee to conquer sin.<\/p>\n<p>As Thou didst hunger and did thirst,<br \/>\nSo teach us, gracious Lord,<br \/>\nTo die to self, and so to live<br \/>\nBy Thy most holy Word.<\/p>\n<p>Abide with us, that through this life<br \/>\nOf suffering and of pain,<br \/>\nAn Easter of unending joy<br \/>\nWe may at last attain.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Lenten Hymn I just love this hymn that we sing at church during Lent.
