It is delightful with breakfast-y foods and is equally wonderful with some meat and vegetables for your dinner.  The grits can be made ahead and reheated.<\/p>\n<p>Ingredients:<\/p>\n<p>6 cups water<br \/>\n1 1\/2 cups Instant Grits (save your fancy grits for another day&#8230;use plain, cheap instant here)<br \/>\n1 t. salt<\/p>\n<p>Cook the grits according to package directions.  When they are done, add in:<\/p>\n<p>3\/4 stick of butter<br \/>\n2 + cups of grated sharp cheddar cheese <\/p>\n<p>Stir the cheese and butter into the hot grits until melted and combined.  Let the grits cool to luke warm.<\/p>\n<p>Add:<\/p>\n<p>3 beaten large eggs<br \/>\n3 shakes of garlic salt<br \/>\n6 shakes (or more, to taste) hot sauce<br \/>\npepper to taste<\/p>\n<p>Put it in a casserole dish and bake at 350 for 45-60 minutes.  <\/p>\n<p>Yummy!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baked Cheese Grits This is a great recipe to have in your collection.
