Their doughnuts are REALLY yummy. Yesterday we stopped there prior to going for a quick Trader Joe’s run before our morning appointment at the pediatrician. So, we were standing there and I was trying to get E to tell me what he would like to have, when, in the midst of a fit of coughing, he threw up all over the floor. Now, I have to say that I was shocked. This was the first time in his almost 4 years that he has been sick like that. I apologized profusely and offered to clean up. They told me that they would take care of it and the manager told me that he hoped that E would feel better soon. After promising them that I’d come back soon to buy some doughnuts, we left. (I should mention that I’ve never been so happy to be the only customer in a store as I was then. Some things are just easier to take if the audience is small, you know?) I took E out to the van and was strapping him in when I noticed the manager had followed me out to the parking lot. He had brought a bottle of Sprite and a bottle of water with him and insisted on me taking one of them with me. And he wouldn’t let me pay him, either. Needless to say, I’m going to be telling Lamar’s corporate what a great employee they have at that particular location. You don’t get service like that everyday. You know, little acts of kindness aren’t really so little, when you think about it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
If You Need a Doughnut…. then you need to get to a Lamars.
