{"id":1373,"date":"2011-08-08T14:40:36","date_gmt":"2011-08-08T14:40:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.annbarlow.com\/?p=1373"},"modified":"2011-08-08T16:49:40","modified_gmt":"2011-08-08T16:49:40","slug":"what-august-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.annbarlow.com\/?p=1373","title":{"rendered":"What August Is"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently read on a <a href=\"http:\/\/pancakesandfrenchfries.com\/2011\/07\/unstyled-life-28\/\">blog<\/a> that<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>July brightens, September threatens, and August sits there waiting like a benediction.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Beautifully expressed, right?<\/p>\n<p>Only, I&#8217;m thinking that these folks must go to school in September instead of August. \u00a0So, August isn&#8217;t so much a benediction for me as it is a time of daily increasing uneasiness.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll spare you my complaining abut the passage of time. \u00a0Only, I think you should know I&#8217;ve decided that I&#8217;m renaming August. From now on it shall be known as Nervous. \u00a0Then everything will make more sense.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking of making sense, we&#8217;re about to have the grandaddy of all clothes try-ons in about a half an hour. \u00a0It will not be a popular event. \u00a0In fact, I&#8217;m guessing that I&#8217;ll have more than one complaint from boxer-clad boys. \u00a0But it will be helpful to me, since knowing what clothing fits which boy in both warm weather clothing and cold weather clothing will make things much easier for me both now and in the future. \u00a0I&#8217;m assuming, of course, that the weather will eventually cool. \u00a0(It will, won&#8217;t it? \u00a0Come quickly Autumn, I beg you.)<\/p>\n<p>Doing things to make life easier = making Nervous (August) a little better.<\/p>\n<p>Happy Monday!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I recently read on a blog that July brightens, September threatens, and August sits there waiting like a benediction.
