We Shall Try Again, On Another Day

We Shall Try Again, On Another Day
In other words, the potty-training mentioned in the previous post did not succeed yesterday. Or, as #4 said, “My acorn isn’t working!” (Yes, he named his you-know-what an acorn. Hilarious in the extreme.) And, really, I should have known not to even attempt it. From the first, it just didn’t bode well. And, after missing the all important first try of the day because of the blankety-blank dog, along with some unrelated stress, I mean even optimists like myself need to know when to quit. He does know what to do, now. And, thankfully, he was not stressed by the whole experience. Precious little boy.

  1. Ohhh, I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out for you yesterday. I’ve had a few misfires myself with our dear E-man. He’s 4 1/2 and I’m dying to stop buying diapers, autism or not! Maybe ’07 will be my year for both my 2-year-old and for E.!

    Acorn! What a hoot!!

I’m looking forward to seeing the new sofa pics.

  2. Renae,
J was not potty trained until he was at least 4 1/2. Even then, he would go on demand but not usually because he felt that he needed to. N was totally trained and then reverted because his big brother didn’t use the potty, so why should he, you know?

Maybe 2007 will be your year to stop buying diapers.

Let’s hope that for both of us. 🙂

  3. Okay, acorn is the funniest name I have heard yet – I love it!

  4. Acorn?? That is a new one.. Leave it to a Barlow child to come up with a original like that. lol T calls his a turtle..
