We saw Episode 3 of Star Wars on Thursday. It was pretty good…better than either of the 2 previous episodes. The dialogue was still really bad in parts. And, overall, I thought that is was sort of unbalanced in that Lucas seemed to dwell on some things far too long while not giving enough attention to other things. There was a really funny guy in the theater with us who was cheering and clapping in parts of the movie. He was so funny. The first time that Yoda did something with the Force, he yelled out, “AW-YEAH!!”. He was a hoot. Our two middle boys understood why when we told them that they wouldn’t be allowed to see the movie for several years. I mean, this movie is rated PG-13 for a reason. But our oldest had a hard time understanding why he couldn’t see it. He really had his heart set on it. I was trying to explain to him that he couldn’t see it for lots of reasons — but he wasn’t satisfied with the reasons I was giving him. So finally I told him that it was PG-13 and that he wasn’t 13 and therefore wouldn’t be able to see it. At this point, amid his tears and sadness, he protested, “Mom, I can see it, I know that I can, it’s not PG 13….it’s PG-8, IT’S PG-8!!!!!” That boy…PG-8. Ha.
