I think that I can assume that I have a borderline OCD-thing for germs because, upon seeing an ad for the TV show “Monk” in which Monk puts all his doorknobs in a dishwasher to sterilize them, I thought to myself, “I wish that I could do that with my doorknobs!” Going down the path to crazy, am I?

Top ten things that I never thought that I would say until I was the mother of boys: 10. “You put a whole roll of toilet paper where???” 9. “Don’t eat that goat food!” 8. “Somebody unplug the vacuum….C just used it to suck up some of my hair!!” (This happened one day when I was getting stuff out from under the couch after turning the vacuum. My mistake.) 7. “You’re telling me that you got that hole in your pants by chewing it there?” 6. (In the bathroom…) “Watch where you’re pointing that thing!!!” 5. “Why in the world did you break those eggs on the couch?” 4. “What do you mean, you’re not wearing your underwear?” 3. “Please get your foot out of your mouth.” 2. “Who put chocolate syrup all over the trunk?” 1. “Please don’t eat those worms!” I gave a little talk at a baby shower today about boys — because the mama in this case is expecting a boy. I don’t know why they asked me…the more I know boys the more that I know how much I don’t know and will never truly understand about them. I am a pretty good boy behavior predictor now, however. I meant the top ten list to be a funny ending to my little talk. My main theme of the speech was my mantra of late, “Boys take faith…..Boys take faith…..Boys take faith.” Precious little snakes, snails and puppy dog tails that they are. :)

Hope that everyone is having a good week. It has been interesting here. We were without electricity for a day….that was, mmmm, very interesting. It made me remember just how quiet it is with no appliances running and such. And it was a really rainy, cooler, misty sort of day, so it was a nice vacation, sort of. My sister is here now for a visit and we are having fun. So far, we’ve done a little shopping and quite a bit of eating (I’m getting back on the wagon next week…) and a little herding of little boys. We plan to do some more stuff tomorrow…..maybe we’ll even try that fondue place. There is no telling. I’ve been trying some new recipes lately and I’ll definitely share some of those next week. And I have some more stuff that I’ll be posting then, so check back. Have a great weekend, y’all. :)

Am I the only one who is wondering why Google hasn’t decorated its site for the Fourth? I mean, they do something for every other holiday….. Happy 4th of July, by the way. And, sorry about the lack of posting. I have not been at the computer much lately. We are having a good summer. It is passing by much too quickly for me. My oldest son is enjoying going to camp and the two middle boys are having fun with each other, as usual, and the baby is doing new things every day. Lately, the baby has started singing along with songs on the cd player. In fact, the first song that he sang along with was a Wilco song….it was so funny. He is a hoot and quite an independent sort of boy. I never know what he is going to do next. I’ve been reading and trying to exercise while reading lately. So far, I’ve reread all the Harry Potter books and also “Pride and Prejudice”. I really liked “Pride and Prejudice” a lot. That book, to quote Edna Mode (of the “Incredibles”), “Confiscated my life, Dahling”. So that is what is up here. We are hoping to get to the fireworks with Miss Liz later. Hopefully it will dry up here. Y’all take care and have a good Fourth.
